After a break of two weeks, we return again, post elections in India as the audiences again gear up for a maelstrom of electronic dance music and some eclectic live music. This weekend is littered with examples of India’s growing zeal for alternative music. Check out our guide.

Ruede Hagelstein: Ruede Hagelstein boasts an impressive entre of colloborations which feature some of the biggest names in modern dance music — featuring Marc Romboy & John Digweed, apart from having some impressive releases on Get Physical, Bedrock and Anjunadeep. He will continue the spirit of NightVibe’s smoothly Friday night residency at Summer House Cafe called Intimate, with a mix of melody and intimacy in Delhi. He continues the spirit over the course of the weekend at Mumbai’s Mashhad and Bangalore’s rising hub House of Life on the Sunday.

Third Son: Chances are if you’ve been into the techno and deep house scene for a while, you would’ve seen Third Son before as this isn’t the first time he’s coming to India. It certainly wouldn’t be the last time he comes because his brand of euphoric dance music innately connects with his Indian audience. He kicks of his tour in Delhi’s infamous Kitty Su, with the Uber talented Aamish on opening duties, followed up with encores in Mumbai’s Kitty Su on the Saturday, and Bangalore’s rooftop bar Kitty Ko.

rRoxyMore: Perhaps, the biggest electronic act of the weekend, rRoxyMore, touches down in India bring down her Berlin-honed French-bred synthesiser chops on a weekend where the world celebrates synthesisers. She kicks off her tour with a slamming warehouse party called Room 303 in Mumbai, following it up with a special show at Delhi’s Auro Kitchen and Bar with India’s modular master Monophonik performing a live set before her. The last leg of the tour is in Banglore’s Tao Terrace on the Sunday.

SoundTank connect at warpcore: While it’s not a gig in the truest sense, SoundTank connect is a networking platform for the music community in India. Ownage entertainment which is owns SoundTank is hosting the first edition in collaboration with warpcore. It is an invite only event and will also feature some impromptu performances from the best in the business. Do show up if you’re invited as it will make for some great Sunday evening conversations and chill vibes.

SickFlip: Sarvesh Srivastava as his alter ego SickFlip mixes clam and serenem, melodic tunes with contrasting bass heavy chest rattling soundscapes creating a unique blend. The inherent Jekyll and Hyde nature of the his sets, makes SickFlip an endearing experience for not the average Friday night partygoer but also for folks who want to be enthralled. Catch him live at Delhi’s Mango Kitchen and Bar tonight.

Kohra & Film: For folks in Jaipur underground parties aren’t coming a dime-a-dozen. But every now and then, there is something special that’s always on the horizon. This Friday, the hynotic Kohra, the chamelleon like Film and Jaipur’s finest Def all come together for a secret rage at a place which used to be a parking lot. While it wouldn’t be nice to publicly tell you where this is happening, we have left enough hints for you to figure out.
