Israeli Spy thriller series “Tehran” arrives on Apple TV+ Next month
Apple’s highly-anticipated espionage thriller series “Tehran” will be available exclusively on Apple TV + on 25 September, the eight-episode series will premier with the first three episodes followed by new weekly episodes every Friday.
It is Apple TV+’s first non-English language series. Tehran, tells the thrilling story of a Mossad agent whose mission dictates that she infiltrates mission in Tehran, and that put her and everyone around her into jeopardy. The series stars Israeli actress Niv Sultan, known for her work on “Flawless,” plays the lead character, Tamar. the show also stars Shaun Toub of “Iron Man,” and Navid Negahban of “Homeland.” It was created and written by Moshe Zonder, who also wrote Netflix’s “Fauda.”
The series has already broadcasted in full in Israel, with mostly positive reviews. Now, Apple is rumored to have already sanctioned a second season.
Apple has partnered with Cineflix Rights and the Israeli channel Kan 11 to co-produce Tehran. The series is created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn, and is directed by Daniel Syrkin. Omri Shenhar is the screenwriter alongside Moshe Zonder. The series is produced by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, Shula Spiegel, Alon Aranya, Julien Leroux, Peter Emerson and Eldad Koblenz.
Apple is undoubtedly enthusiastic about the series. “Tehran is part of several international top series by award-winning storytellers. The existing ones are Ted Lasso by Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence, Long Way Up by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman and Masters of the Sky by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.”
Apple TV+ viewers could have a broader range of shows to watch in the future, with reports that Apple is in talks to license existing movies and TV shows and extend its catalogs like Disney+ and Netflix.
