Apple partners with Reese Witherspoon to produce “My Kind of Country”

Apple has ordered “My Kind of Country,” a singing competition series for Apple TV + produced by acclaimed actress Reese Witherspoon. It will focus on a groundbreaking global search for extraordinary and unconventional country music talent.
“My Kind of Country” will have a modern, documentary structure that will also break down cultural and musical barriers in the field of country music, it will allow musicians to “release their authentic voices and take center stage”, she said. The objective of the series is to discover and promote new age talents.
The series will be produced by Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine alongside Jason Owen of Sandbox Entertainment and Emmy Award nominee Izzie Pick Ibarra, who was also the showrunner for other competition series including “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Masked Singer”. The music director for the series will be BET award-winner Adam Blackstone, who is also the director of a singer Justin Timberlake and Tim McGraw.
“My Kind of Country ” will be the third project that Hello Sunshine has set up with Apple. The Cupertino-based company is currently producing a drama show known as “The morning show” which also stars Witherspoon and recently got nominated for eight Emmy Awards.
Currently, there is no release date announced for this series, but we do know that it will premiere on “Apple TV” + on all supporting devices.
