Apple iPhone 11 reviews suggest, it has the best smartphone camera which was unexpected
A lot of people have called the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro boring updates to Apple’s golden goose. The iPhone which has been credited with redefining the smartphone industry since its inception in 2007, in its 13th year, has been classified as a derivative me-to attempt which plays catch up to the Android competition while being labelled uninspiring from its previous generation model. But as the first reviews of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro dropped yesterday on US based publications, universally reviewers stated that the iPhone 11 models impressed more than their first impressions and Apple had made huge improvements to the cameras and battery life of these phones.
Nilay Patel from the Verge claimed that the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro had finally managed to beat Google’s ascendency in camera technology. He felt these phones had the best smartphone cameras.
“These are some of the most well-balanced, most capable phones Apple — or anyone — has ever made. They have excellent battery life, processors that should keep them relevant for years to come, absolutely beautiful displays, and a new camera system that generally outperforms every other phone, which should get even better with a promised software update later this fall” he states.
The Wall Street Journal’s Joanna Stern, believed that the battery life of the new phones were very good which would appeal to a lot of users. She also felt that the wide-angle lens was a huge deal, which didn’t only offer a new perspective but also helped with low light shots.
“Battery and camera weren’t the only iPhone 11 highlights, though they were certainly the biggest,” she claimed.
Engadget’ s Chris Velazco also echoed the sentiments of Patel and Stern stating that the triple cameras really stand out performing better than most phones on the market and also functioning in a seamless way. Likewise, an old pain point of the iPhone, the battery life has been addressed head-on.
“Apple’s new flagship is packed to the brim with new components, but the changes that really stand out are its flexible triple camera and the significant improvements to battery life,” he states in the summary of his review.
Apart from these star reviewers, the common notion across reviewers is that the cameras are surprisingly good almost to a degree that people didn’t expect the iPhone 11 to be able to match the year old Google Pixel, if not outshine it.
Reviewers also felt, in the realm of video, the iPhone extends its lead over Android phones, by a huge margin which net-net makes it the best mobile photography tool on balance considering Apple’s platform is also home to best apps for creators.
The performance gains of the A13 bionic chip weren’t noticeable to most reviewers, but that was partly because the iPhone was already so fast, so the law of diminishing returns is striking it.
In person, many people felt that the iPhone 11 models looked better than how they looked in photographs.
On balance, the new iPhones have received the highest rating in two years on websites like the Verge and Engadget.
